Poverty Alleviation

Nelspruit Community Forum was given the opportunity to facilitate a program called Poverty Alleviation. It is an entrepreneurship initiative that has begun in many parts of South Africa. NCF is the only organization in Mpumalanga that is currently doing it. I am overseeing and developing this program. We recently had a train the trainer workshop; and the material was awesome and very helpful. It covered things like how to problem solve and brain storm. These aren’t typical terms or concepts to most Africans. It was incredible to see people grab a hold of these things and see that something can be done about poverty. I followed up the training with a practical training on how to write a business plan and answer questions. I’m excited to see how this impacts our villages and how these individuals implement what they have learned and train/teach others. Please keep this project in your prayers!

"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation." Rev. 5:9
I'm a missionary in South Africa. I have been here for over six years and plan on many more to come. God has captured my heart for this nation. Just like with anything there are some days overflowing with joy and other days filled with heartache. But I love it and wouldn’t trade living and working in South Africa for anything. I am living a dream; it is more than I could think or imagine.
